Tea Blink
2020 Sitting in the soft Victorian chair, I sigh and sip the warmth of the tea. Every Wednesday night is like this. Out on the balcony, looking across the wide garden that is wild, and unkept. The cosmos droop, sunflowers clash into the ground, and the berry bushes show no signs of colorful round balls. A soft wind blows, steadily moving my hair to and fro. It's a peaceful night, a boring night, a night that I enjoy engaging in every week. I close my eyes remembering the days in which Julian would sit out here with me. Her giggles and soft voice took me to places I could have never imagined. The small smile she would have when I teased her about marriage or the looks of regret as we talked about children filled my mind. The thoughts of her smooth skin and the red of her lips entranced me, while the images of her wearing no more than her nightgown and high heels excite me. The flipping of her auburn hair would always catch my sight. She was a goddess, and she knew it. We could talk for hours during the night on this balcony. It was a simple gesture of our close relationship. I knew her for two years, heard about her for two more. My best friend would talk about her all the time, exclaiming how everyone wanted her and how she was the most beautiful woman around. At first, I scoffed at this. Why love someone just for their looks? What about the other women? I felt like he was putting her above the rest. Although, the moment I saw her, all those questions and off-put thoughts went away. She instantly became my everything. The tea tastes nauseatingly bitter. It tastes like the moment I found out the truth. I discovered why she stopped showing up to our nightly talks here. Every week turned into every other week, then once a month. I asked what was wrong and she just smiled saying everything was perfect. Never once told me about the other man. It was like a fun secret for her, toying with my heart. I remember when the maid walked into the room while I sat here in this exact chair. I was at peace, sipping my earl gray. The world got cold as the maid announced the invitation I received. Bells rung in my ears and pictures of her in a white gown was filling my mind. Tears stream down my face as I recall my outrage. The idea of her with him encouraged me to fire all the gardeners. Why shall the garden flourish while I do not? The patch of red roses was hers, so they must wither The nights of us gazing out into the beautiful fields must mean nothing! Yelling at the butlers and pushing the maids around as I walked throughout the house, I was trying to figure out where I went wrong. Did I do something to upset her? Did I not embrace her enough? Breathing becomes unsteady. My mouth goes powdery as memories of my heart shattering with every step I took flood back to me. The recollection of the cuts aching on my hands as I tore the invitation apart made my fingers flinch. How dare she think I would go! How dare she hurt me! In the end, I never went to wedding. I ignored her calls and had the servant claim I was gone on business trips whenever she came around. I let the garden go for good, and even took my anger out on the people around me. I told my best friend to forget I existed, and my family to believe I moved to another country. I wanted a new start to life, to redo everything. I laid off hundreds of workers and hired new young employees I thought would push it further. I did all this without warning. Do I regret this? Taking a deep breath, I realize my mistake. How I should have made the first move on her, and to not drink this delicate tea. It is to late too fix everything now. It is too late to save myself. She will mourn the day she left me. My heart burns as the clash of the teacup echoes through the still night. My eyes shutter for a second, then they stare out into the night sky |
Blossom's Dream Chapter 1 2016 Blossom's P.O.V I woke up to laughter in my ear. As I looked over to see what was going on, I couldn't help but wanting to go back to sleep. "Stop tickling me, Buttercup!" yelled my sister, Bubbles. Buttercup did as she was told or so I thought, I really shouldn't have thought that in the first place. "Well, Well, Look who decided to wake up!" Said Buttercup. I looked at the clock to find out it was 11:15! But how? I always wake up early! This is a new record of sleeping in! "We had to fight the Rowdyruff Boys and Mojo all by ourselves because someone wanted to be sleeping beauty" murmured Buttercup "Well, Sorry! I guess I was just tired!" I yelled back. Surprisingly I was having a dream… ~Remembering Dream ~ I woke up to a sound like someone screaming in fear. I looked around to find everything destroyed. "Bubbles! Buttercup!" I screamed threw the darkness with no answer. I could feel tears streaming down my face cause in my gut I knew they were gone….Not gone, gone but probably kidnapped or so I hoped. I tried getting up but couldn't move a muscle because there was something holding me down. These wild red eyes came out of nowhere and they started laughing at my stupidity. "Who…Who are you?" I asked trying to sound calm. "I'm your worst nightmare!" The eyes shrieked. A bright light came blasting towards me! "Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!" I screamed because that's all I could do. ~End memory~ It seems like a short dream but everything was slow and everything seemed so real…..I don't know what to do. It probably was just a short nightmare that never will happen again….. Buttercup's P.O.V What is up with Blossom?! She isn't answering my question! She is just sitting there in her own little world! What should I do? Oh! I know! I start walking to the bathroom with a bucket and fill it with water. While I walk back I'm hoping I don't get caught by the Professor. I go back into my room or me and my sister's room, run over to Blossom, and dump the whole bucket of water on her! Including the bucket. "BUTTERCUP!" Bubbles yelled. "BUTTERCUP! WHAT WAS THAT FOR!?" Yelled the annoyed Blossom. "YOU WOULDN'T WAKE UP!" I yelled even louder. "WELL COULDN'T YOU HAVE DONE SOMETHING ELSE LIKE SHAKEN ME!?" "BUT THAT ISNT AS FUN, NOW IS IT!" "GIRLS! GIRLS!" walked in the professor "What's going on?" Bubbles started like normal, "Blossom was in deep thought and then Buttercup left but came back with a bucket of water and then dropped it on Blossom including the bucket and…." "Ok, ok, Buttercup say sorry." "WHY?" "Buttercup!" "Alright, Alright!" I fly over to Blossom, "I'm…I'm sorry" "Yeah you better be!", Blossom says as she flies off to the bathroom. Well, that was fun! |
